Hands-on Experience

The experience begins with hands-on activities, such as grinding corn and learning the art of crafting tortillas from scratch. Following this, participants will engage in a pottery presentation, immersing themselves in the world of Maya craftsmanship. They will discover traditional pottery techniques and the art of adorning pieces. The culinary journey concludes with a two-course meal featuring a selection of traditional and local dishes.

Cooking Class

Learning to prepare local dishes using traditional recipes. The cooking takes place over an open-fire hearth, imparting an authentic touch to the experience. A delicious three-course meal will be served on unique clay plates and cups, handcrafted by the San Antonio Women's Group members. Participants will not only engage in the art of preparing exquisite Maya dishes but also carry home the invaluable gift of a unique cultural recipe. Options include: (1) Vegetarian, (2) Yucatec, and (3) Belizean cooking.
